Richard Pirie

Richard qualified as an English Solicitor in 1987 and as a Jersey Advocate in 1991.  After 10 years in private practice in Jersey he moved into the finance industry where he gained considerable experience at Investec Trust, as a director of its in-house trustee companies and as head of legal services.  He then gained valuable commercial experience by spending 18 months running the family office of an entrepreneur with interests in commercial and residential property development and leading edge telecommunications technologies.

Richard joined the Commercial Department of Crill Canavan in October 2006 to head up the Trust team and will be applying his experience to develop existing and new relationships with trust companies and intermediaries, in Jersey and elsewhere, as well as advising on trusts and regulatory issues.  In March 2007 he became a member of STEP and is also a member of the Panel of Experts for the 2007/8 STEP Private Client Awards.
