We operate a bursary scheme to provide financial assistance to Jersey residents who are undergraduates at a British university and who are interested in a career as a lawyer in Jersey.
To qualify, you must be a Jersey resident, studying at a British university. You do not need to be studying for a law degree, but we do expect you to achieve a minimum of 300 points at A-level. It is the intention to become a lawyer that is important rather than the degree course being followed.
We will consider applications for support of courses leading to degree level studies (non-law degrees included) and/or to post graduate studies with a law content such as PgDL, LPC or BVC.
The bursary is worth £1,500 per annum and is paid in three instalments, with the first payment being made at the beginning of the academic year, the second in January and the final payment in May.
In addition to the financial support, you’ll have regular meetings with one of our partners. They can help you when thinking about your study options, work placements, post graduate work and the like. In return, we ask you to give us first refusal on any holiday work you choose to do.
If you would like to register your interest for the next intake please download our information sheet below, which contains details of the Scheme and an application form, and send this to us, together with a copy of your CV.
